Residence permit in Hungary based on business

Persons entitled to obtain a residence permit on the basis of entrepreneurial activity

This residence permit can be issued to third-country nationals who have the purpose of stay:

• to engage in activities as an individual entrepreneur for the purpose of making a profit in accordance with the law

• management of a company, cooperative or other legal entity established to generate income

If a person acts as the head of a company, cooperative or other legal entity created for profit and carries out activities that go beyond this field of activity (classic worker,

actual work in the company), it is necessary to apply for a residence permit for the purpose of employment.

Documents to be attached to the application:

Documents confirming the purpose of your stay in Hungary

• business plan and supporting documents or

• documents confirming full employment for at least six months continuously and without interruption of at least three Hungarian citizens or persons enjoying the right of free movement and residence in Hungary

• charter of a company, cooperative or other legal entity established for the purpose of making a profit, and documents confirming its registration in the commercial register

• identity card of an individual entrepreneur or certificate issued on the basis of an application for starting a business

• certificate of registration as a farmer

Documents confirming the right of residence in Hungary

• certified copy of the certificate of ownership of housing in Hungary, issued no more than 30 days ago

• lease agreement

• document confirming the right to free use of the apartment

• Completed declaration of residence signed by the owner or provider

Proof of livelihood and other documents

• Certificate of income from the tax authorities (NAV) for the previous year

• Minutes of participants (founders) on monthly income income., statement of income issued by an accountant

• other documents (e.g. bank statement, bank statement)

Comprehensive health insurance certificate

During the procedure, the Aliens Registration Authority may also require the submission of additional documents to clarify the facts.
